By developing an Environmental Framework for their business, Barry Stewart Builders demonstrated to their clients that they take a proactive approach to environmental management and compliance.
Tendering for contracts that included environmental considerations and requirements highlighted the need for the business to implement an environmental management framework. Given the regulatory nature of the requirements, a suitably qualified and experienced consultant was needed to develop this. WM Environmental developed an Environmental Management Plan that captured everything from Stormwater Management and Spill Response to Noise and Vibration.
Key Services Provided:
- Development of a structured environmental management framework including an Environmental Risk Register, a Compliance Obligations Register, staff training material and incident response procedures.
- Development of key master documents for on-going use by Barry Stewart Builders, including an Environmental Management Plan to assess and record noise, stormwater, sediment and erosion risks and controls.
- A project handover to upskill staff on the requirements of the EMS and how the various elements can be applied to differing projects and the on-going maintenance which will be required to ensure the system remains current and relevant.
